Kenexis® Open-PHA® includes built-in support for performing a Security PHA Review (SPR) alongside traditional process hazards analysis studies such as HAZOP and LOPA.
Kenexis® Open-PHA® is built on a standardized, comprehensive data structure — the “Super Set” — that contains all the fields process industry end users have determined a PHA should capture. Since most users won’t need every field for every study, Kenexis® Open-PHA® lets you customize your view to show only the data relevant to the work at hand.
When a new Kenexis® Open-PHA® study is created, a default view is applied that displays only a subset of the Super Set. This default view does not include the SPR-specific fields. To enable SPR functionality, open the Settings tab and turn on the following fields:
- Cause Hackable
- Scenario Hackable
- Safeguard Hackable
Once enabled, these fields will appear in your study, allowing you to document SPR findings alongside your standard PHA data.
The video below demonstrates how to adjust these settings in Kenexis® Open-PHA® and use them to conduct and document a full SPR study.
More information on the SPR study can be found in other blogs on this site, the Kenexis YouTube Channel, and the services pages of the site.
